TRAINING METHODS
There are three areas of training in ATP Tour Sense Arena - Cognitive, Tactical, and Visualization. Each of these areas help players of all levels train their mental skills such as focus, anticipation, and reaction.
TYPES OF TRAINING
COGNITIVE TRAINING
Sports performance at the highest level requires a wealth of cognitive functions such as attention, decision-making, and working memory to be functioning at optimal levels in stressful and demanding environments. We use cutting edge tennis VR technology to create realistic training scenarios that challenge your decision-making abilities and effectiveness.
TACTICAL TRAINING
Tactical training encompasses a range of skills and strategies, including shot selection, court positioning, game plan development, and adapting to different opponents. Tennis is a game of adaptation, and virtual reality tennis allows players to learn to read their opponent’s game and adjust their own tactics accordingly. Develop skills such as changing your shot selection, altering your court positioning, and disrupting your opponent's rhythm.
VISUALIZATION TRAINING
Visualization Training, also known as mental imagery or mental rehearsal, is a technique used in sports to enhance performance. With ATP Tour Sense Arena, players can visualize specific skills, movements, and competitive tennis scenarios. This type of training helps players integrate perception, anticipation, and response time towards scenarios that they're already used to seeing on the court.
Flying objects
Enjoy a little fun and practice your visualization of tennis objects. After the countdown, you’ll see random tennis objects flying to you. Instead of both of your controllers also appear random tennis objects. In this drill you must catch the only the same object as the one that is in your hand instead of the controller.
Mirror reflex
The drill is designed to improve your rhythmic skills. The objective is to touch the corresponding box on the opposite side as it would be seen in the mirror.
Multitask Color
Get your brain to multitask, and work on your opponent’s awareness, reaction, and decision-making skills. In this special drill, you must recognize what’s happening on the other side of the court and make the right decision. You will see a colored square flash behind the opponent. Based on this color, you must place your shot in the same colored zone on the opponent’s side of the court.
